Kartelovic is an artist who explores the interplay between nostalgia and the present in his works. He draws inspiration from historical everyday objects, artifacts, and mementos, while breaking the boundaries between traditional craftsmanship and digital design. His minimalist semi-abstract compositions are characterized by balanced visual compositions and recurring color harmonies, creating a strong sense of recognition. Through his art, he vividly showcases the transformations and loss of traditions and craftsmanship. By employing digital techniques, he opens up new possibilities for representing and interpreting historical motifs. Kartel debuted at Hola Utopia! in 2021, when he created a striking semi-abstract mural close the central station in Hannover. In 2022 he created a design for the t-shirts that were produced to mark the occasion. In 2023 he returns to add another large-scale piece to the city where he was raised.
